描述
Uridine monophosphate, also known as uridylic acid or ump, is a member of the class of compounds known as pyrimidine ribonucleoside monophosphates. Pyrimidine ribonucleoside monophosphates are pyrimidine ribobucleotides with monophosphate group linked to the ribose moiety. Uridine monophosphate is soluble (in water) and a moderately acidic compound (based on its pKa). Uridine monophosphate can be found in a number of food items such as dill, towel gourd, pineappple sage, and arrowroot, which makes uridine monophosphate a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products. Uridine monophosphate can be found primarily in blood and saliva. Uridine monophosphate exists in all living species, ranging from bacteria to humans. In humans, uridine monophosphate is involved in several metabolic pathways, some of which include pyrimidine metabolism, tetracycline action pathway, spectinomycin action pathway, and arbekacin action pathway. Uridine monophosphate is also involved in several metabolic disorders, some of which include dihydropyrimidinase deficiency, beta ureidopropionase deficiency, UMP synthase deficiency (orotic aciduria), and congenital disorder of glycosylation cdg-iid.
