(9s,10e,12z,15z)-9-hydroperoxy-10,12,15-octadecadienoate, also known as 9(S)-hpod or 9-hydroperoxy-11,12-octadecadienoic acid, belongs to lineolic acids and derivatives class of compounds. Those are derivatives of lineolic acid. Lineolic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-6 18 carbon long fatty acid, with two CC double bonds at the 9- and 12-positions. Thus, (9s,10e,12z,15z)-9-hydroperoxy-10,12,15-octadecadienoate is considered to be an octadecanoid lipid molecule (9s,10e,12z,15z)-9-hydroperoxy-10,12,15-octadecadienoate is practically insoluble (in water) and a weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa).
