3-Amino-2-piperidone is a delta-lactam of ornithine. It is found in the urine of patients with hyperornithinemia (PMID 679477), due to Ornithine keto acid aminotransferase (EC 2.6.1.13) deficiency (OMIM 258870). [HMDB]
