Dietary supplement, nutrient Glutamic acid (abbreviated as Glu or E) is one of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids. It is a non-essential amino acid. L-Glutamic acid is found in many foods, some of which are shortening, red raspberry, prickly pear, and chinese cabbage.
