Isolated from Curcuma zedoaria (zedoary) and other Curcuma subspecies flavouring ingredient. Natural colouring matter used extensively in Indian curries etc. Nutriceutical with anticancer and antiinflammatory props. Curcumin is found in many foods, some of which are asian pear, leek, chayote, and coconut.
