(z)-2,6,10-bisabolatriene, also known as (Z)-laquo gammaraquo -bisabolene, is a member of the class of compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. Sesquiterpenoids are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. Thus, (z)-2,6,10-bisabolatriene is considered to be an isoprenoid lipid molecule (z)-2,6,10-bisabolatriene is a balsam, citrus, and myrrh tasting compound and can be found in a number of food items such as german camomile, ginger, roman camomile, and wild carrot, which makes (z)-2,6,10-bisabolatriene a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
