Neochlorogenin is a member of the class of compounds known as triterpenoids. Triterpenoids are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. Neochlorogenin is practically insoluble (in water) and a very weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Neochlorogenin can be found in fruits, which makes neochlorogenin a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product.
