A primary effect of CS2 exposure is the inhibition of dopamine-beta-hydroxylase (DBH). The ability of CS2 to react with endogenous amines has led to the hypothesis that inhibition of DBH may occur via the formation of dithiocarbamate metabolites which bind to enzymic copper. (A209)
