Ethybenzene inhibits the activity of the astrocytic membrane ATPases, which helps regulate adequate intercellular levels of ions, nutrients, metabolic intermediates, and precursors in the central nervous system. Thus, this may disturb the ability of the cells to maintain homeostasis. (A186)
