Perturbation of inflammatory responses in bronchial epithelial cells was demonstrated by direct action of acrolein on the inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B (I魏B) kinase, which inhibits activation of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-魏B) transcription factor and suppresses interleukin 8 (IL-8) production.
