Certain mono- and bis-hydroxy metabolites of methoxychlor, especially 2,2-bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1, 1-trichloroethane (HPTE), act as estrogen analogues. HPTE is an know androgen receptor antagonist. (A118)
