The mean value of TPMT activity in *1/*1 subjects was 40% higher than that TPMT*1/*3C subjects in SLE patients (18.1+/-6.1 nmol/h/ml packed red blood cells (pRBC) versus 13.2+/-3.2 nmol/h/ml pRBC). There were 51 *1/*1 patients and four *1/*3C subjects. Genotyping was performed for *2,*3A,*3B, and *3C.
