The A allele is designated as MHS causative by the European Malignant Hyperthermia Group. The authors of the study tested whether this variant confers MHS characteristics using differentiated skeletal muscle cells from MHS and MH negative (MHN) controls by assaying cells with chlorocrasol, halothane, and caffeine.
