" the difference in CIWA-Ar scores before the therapy and after it was lower in patients with the CC genotype in comparison with those who carried the CT and TT genotypes. This is presumably related to the reduced CYP3A isoenzyme activity in patients carrying the minor allele T. This, in turn, leads to the reduced biotransformation rates of diazepam, a cumulation of the drug in plasma and a more pronounced effect of the medication."
