Patients with epilepsy and the GG genotype may have a decreased risk of developing psychosis following treatment with phenytoin and phenobarbital as compared to patients with the AA genotype. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's risk of developing psychosis following phenytoin and phenobarbital treatment.
