Patients with epilepsy and the AA genotype may have an increased risk of developing psychosis following treatment with phenytoin and phenobarbital as compared to patients with the GG genotype. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's risk of developing psychosis following phenytoin and phenobarbital treatment.
