Patients with hypertension and the GG genotype may have an increased response to hydrochlorothiazide, as measured by an decrease in systolic blood pressure, as compared to patients with the CC or CG genotypes. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's response to hydrochlorothiazide.
