Patients with schizophrenia and the AA genotype may have a decreased response to olanzapine as compared to patients with the AG or GG genotypes. However, this was based on a subanalysis of symptom scores and the opposite association was found when analyzing a different score in the same dataset. Additionally, another study failed to find an association. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's response to olanzapine.
