Patients with schizophrenia and the GG genotype may have a decreased response to risperidone as compared to patients with the AA or AG genotypes. However, this association was only found in a subanalysis of symptoms scores while another study failed to find an association. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's response to risperidone.
