Patients with schizophrenia and the AA genotype may have an increased response to risperidone as compared to patients with the AG or GG genotypes. However, this association was only found in a subanalysis of symptoms scores while another study failed to find an association. Other genetic and clinical factors may also affect a patient's response to risperidone.
