Patients with hypertension and the TT genotype may have an increased response to atenolol or metoprolol, as measured by change in diastolic blood pressure, as compared to patients with the CC or CT genotypes. Other genetic. and clinical factors may also affect a patient's response to atenolol or metoprolol.
